Entrepreneur Middle East
Vector, Graph, and Spatial Blackbelt
Covington & Burling
Tungsten Automation

A legend of rhythmic gymnastics, TV host, and influencer Russia
Liasan Utiasheva
Liasan Utiasheva began rhythmic gymnastics as a child, her extraordinary flexibility setting her apart early on. Her backscale pivot became a signature move, now named in her honor. By her late teens, she was a two-time Grand Prix Final all-around medalist and a winner of multiple championships.
But behind the beauty was pain. In 2002, after months of misdiagnosis, she collapsed during a performance. Doctors eventually discovered multiple stress fractures in both feet. The damage was so severe that amputation was briefly considered. She spent months unable to walk, undergoing surgeries and facing deep uncertainty about her recovery.
She returned to the sport in 2004, defying all odds. But two years later, another injury—this time to her knee—ended her competitive career for good at just 21.
Liasan didn’t fade. She transformed. Turning her discipline into storytelling, she became a choreographer, then a television host. Now a mother of two, she connects with millions, speaking on resilience, reinvention, and the power of rising after the fall.
